The 19th mystery from the Inspector Wexford series. Kingsmarkham becomes a hotbed of crime, as residents find themselves attacked on their bicycles riding past Myland Castle. Reg Wexford is dismissive at first as the first victim is an old man, but when a child later dies in an attack, he realizes he should of taken the elderly man more seriously. So when a nurse then comes to him with suspicions that her 92 year old patient Ivy Wrangton may not of died of natural causes, Reg is inclined to believe her... Starring George Baker, Christopher Ravenscroft, Louie Ramsey, Diane Keen, Clare Woodgate (aka Georgina Cates), Susan Wooldridge, Eileen Page, Madeleine Christie, Marjorie Summerville, Peter Copley, John Conroy, Maggie Holland, Roger Griffiths, Ken Kitson and John Burgess. This was a combination of three separate Ruth Rendell short stories made as one murder mystery, and is notable for an early appearance by 2point4 children star Georgina Cates (here known as Clare Woodgate). I was fortunate enough to save it before it disappeared from Youtube. And as this comes from an original videotape, there is likely to be a few glitches on here, due to it's age.
