This is the video link to the album for the kids TV series Marmalade Atkins and it's episodes, which started out as a one off pilot in 1981 before progressing to a series "Educating Marmalade" from 1982 to 1983, and then a further series "Danger: Marmalade at Work" from 1984. Featuring Charlotte Coleman as the eponymous character just a year after her stint on Worzel Gummidge had ended, her Marmalade Atkins is a cheeky and misbehaving imp who is often on the end of her parents and her social worker Mrs Allgood's attempts to shunt her off to one place or another to either subdue her or get rid of her! As a kids' show, it is a revelation, as is the cast, including John Bird as her greedy businessman father and Lynda La Plante (yes, that one!) as her conniving mother. The biggest surprise is that it was created by Andrew Davies, behind so many successes on TV, but he creates a outrageous, gloriously "politically incorrect" children's comedy that is so near the knuckle at times you wonder if it really was meant for kids! From Mr Atkins continually plotting how to "swindle the Arabs", to nuns with moustaches and even at one point her parents attempting to sell their teenage daughter as a bride to a randy sheik - nothing is seemingly off limits, including taking the mickey out of wishy washy social workers with the introduction of Wendy Woolly in it's sequel (played by future T-Bag star Elizabeth Estenden). Some of the episodes have to be seen to be believed, and maybe that's why it hasn't been repeated since the 1980's. This clip comes from Episode 2 of Educating Marmalade, where she is sent to a convent school run by nuns (or penguins with moustaches as Marmalade refers to them, played by Brian Glover and Matthew Scurfield), and where you can also spot a very early appearance by Julia Sawalha as one of the schoolgirls.
