For much of this episode Magnum is back in 1936, playing a film noir private eye (obviously the creators of this love film noir) investigating an old murder. Luckily you don't get Bobby Ewing popping out of the shower, but there is a reason for Magnum's flights into fancy, which becomes clear towards the end...
