Part 1 of 6 of the children's TV series from 1990. Eustace Scrubb is at boarding school, and the subject of school bullies. He makes friends with Jill Pole, another of the bullies targets, and whilst trying to flee them one day they inadvertantly end up in Narnia, though seperated. Jill encounters Aslan the lion, who informs her that their quest must be to find Prince Rillian, the son of the now King Caspian, who has disappeared in woodlands looking for the serpent that killed his mother. With this knowledge, Jill must locate Eustace and navigate their way through this strange land of Narnia...
Starring David Thwaites and a young Camillia Power in a star making role 3 years before she found fame in soap Emmerdale in 1993. Among the support cast is Ronald Pickup, Warwick Davis, Tat Whalley, Mick Walter, Geoffrey Russell and Richard Henders. It was the last of the Narnia adaptations made by the BBC, which was broadcast on November 18th 1990 in the run up to Christmas, and a series that remains vivid in my mind from my childhood.
