Part 5 of 6 of the Francis Durbridge thriller. Things heat up as Carol Vyner disappears after her dinner date with Harry Brent, but where is she? The man who held up Milton, Kevin Jason, breaks out of jail, but is in for a nasty shock of his own when he gets out. And while people are now eager to confess their sins to Milton, his own chief suspect Harry Brent is proving frustraingly reluctant to talk, despite the fact his own life is at threat... Starring Gerald Harper, Edward Brayshaw, Bernard Brown, Brian Wilde, Judy Parfitt, John Horsley, Peter Ducrow, Desmond Cullum-Jones, Alan Hockey, Fred Ferris, Michael Warren, Leon Shepperdsen and Raymond Huntley. This was first broadcast in March 1965, and although the sets may wobble on occasion it still retains the power to intrigue and transfix. And it's still hard to tell whether Harry Brent can be trusted or not, even in episode 5. One intriguing point I've just noticed - Gerald Harper working alongside Peter Ducrow in their investigations. Just two years later they would appear in Adam Adamant Lives!, where Ducrow would prove to be Harper's Adamant's nemesis, The Face! Who'd of thought it?
