Ep 5: Lady Sybil. Who is the "Phantom" Lady Sybil is so frightened of? Does the ghost of her dead husband haunt the grounds? Or is it something far more sinister that stalks the family? Starring Cathleen Nesbitt, Denholm Elliott, John Osborne, Norma West, Cheryl Murray, Roger Solman, Colin Higgins, Andre Van Gysegham, Leslie French, Marina McConnell and Una Brandon-Jones. This episode really gets the juices flowing as something sinister stalks the grounds and terrifies the elderly Lady Sybil. But why? Catherine Nesbitt was 89 when she did this and she lived until 1982 and she holds the attention as the frail and vulnerable old woman who fears what lurks outside her door at night. There is good support by Denholm Elliott and the less desirable John Osborne as her somewhat peculiar sons, while Coronation Street fans may recognize Cheryl Murray (Suzy Birtles in the soap) as the often pestered maid of the family.
