Overview: DI Frost is forced to cancel a fortnight's leave to investigate the suspicious death of a young boy that had been missing, and whose body was recently found in an alley. The autopsy finds that the boy was kidnapped by someone who chloroformed them, before cutting off one of their fingers. Frost soon discovers the kidnapper has taken another boy, and is demanding a half-million-pound ransom from the owner of a major supermarket chain, but finds that there is more to the kidnapping when the ransom money used by the owner turns out to be counterfeit. At the same time, Frost finds himself investigating the disappearance of a teenage girl, and has suspicions that her parents are not being honest over their story of the incident.
