Worzel Gummidge (S4, Ep 1) (1981)

S4, Ep 1: Muvver's Day. Worzel is feeling despondent that everybody else has a mother but he doesn't, and tells the Crowman he wishes he had one for his birthday wish. Against his better judgment the Crowman decides to contact Sarah Pigswill, a female scarecrow who was made from the same turnip patch as Worzel, to come and be his substitute mother. But Worzel soon discovers that sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for... Starring Jon Pertwee, Charlotte Coleman, Jeremy Austin, Geoffrey Bayldon, Beryl Reid, Barbara Ashcroft and Susie Johns. This is from my own collection and marked the start of the 4th and final series of the original Worzel Gummidge series. This was originally broadcast on Halloween, October 31st 1981 as the series ran down towards Xmas that year. This series is also notably for the absence of Megs Jenkins as Mrs Braithwaite.
