Worzel Gummidge (S1, Ep 4) (1979)

Ep 4: The Crowman. John and Sue question the Crowman about Worzel, but nearly let slip about knowing he can walk and talk. But when the Crowman goes to see Worzel, he finds that Worzel has a request of his own - he wants him to make a handsome head so that he can find himself a wife. But that can only lead to trouble for the unruly scarecrow when he decides to go courting... Starring Jon Pertwee, Geoffrey Bayldon, Charlotte Coleman, Jeremy Austin, Joan Sims, Mike Berry, Norman Bird, Megs Jenkins and Sarah Thomas. A childhood favourite of mine, this is from my own collection, bought me as a Xmas present last year. Mind you, I don't remember Worzel being so unruly as he is during his 4 series run, but my favourite character in this was the enigmatic Crowman, played by Geoffrey Bayldon (though older viewers will remember him from Catweazle). And this also has Joan Sims, for me the most talented and underrated of the female Carry On stars.
