According to various estimates, the size of the Russian charity sector measured in dollars ranges anywhere from 5.5 to 6.5 billion dollars per year.
Is this a lot or a little?
On the one hand, relative to GDP, this amount does not appear to be such a large amount.
On the other hand, however, this amount is comparable to government spending in certain areas: for example, federal budget expenditures on health care and culture.
Overall, there is a positive trend, and the total amount of donations continues to grow year after year.
