Part 3 of 4 of the 1st ever Inspector Wexford mystery from 1987. As the search continues for the body of Anita Margolis, Wexford discovers a gold lighter with the inscription "For Ann, who lights up my life." However, all of Anita's love interests - including the suspicious and married Mr Kirkpatrick - deny buying her the gift. They set about tracing where the lighter was bought, but after further confusion they encounter a huge setback when they finally track down the elusive Geoff Smith...
Starring George Baker, Christopher Ravenscroft, Louie Ramsey, Robert Reynolds, Christopher Ellison, Kim Thomson, Donald Hewlett, Carmel McSharry, Russell Hunter, Stephanie Fayerman, Ken Kitson, Kate Eaton, Nicholas Gecks, Jean Heywood, Deborah Poplett, Ann Penfold, Emma Smith and Noah Huntley (pre Emmerdale fame). This is from an old video recording originally uploaded by Youtube member ADC TV Collection that I was fortunate to save before it disappeared last year. As it's from an old recording, apologies in advance for any picture or sound issues, as it is how I found it. This mystery however has rarely been repeated since it's broadcast in August 1987, so any copy is valuable to Wexford fans. I do have most of the Wexford mysteries, save for three, and will attempt to upload a mystery on here every week for you all. Until then, enjoy this complex but enjoyable mystery - and of course that end theme tune, which despite not really suiting the Wexford series is a cracking theme tune nevertheless.
