An episode of Arena, originally broadcast on January 30th 1987, in which Alan Yentob interviews the screenwriter Dennis Potter about his life and how he originally intended on going into politics until deciding to go into screenwriting for television, plus clips and discussions about some of his famous works on the back of his (then) latest work and huge success that was The Singing Detective. This is a recording of mine from when it was repeated on BBC4 recently and Potter's works have always intrigued me, even if not all of his plays have appealed to me. He proves an interesting interviewee here, and I thought I would upload it here in case it appealed to anybody on here. Enjoy.
