Noel's House Party (Feb 1st 1992)

In this episode Noel is joined by the cast of 'Allo 'Allo who play against each other in the Lyric Game, viewers get to choose whether Derek Jameson or his wife Ellen get to go in the gunge tank, while contestants Teresa & Ralph try to guess what secrets their son Gary may of spilled in game show Wait Till I Get You Home. Noel advertises for a new housekeeper and regrets doing so, MTV sees someone from Southampton surprised live on TV, while snooker icon Dennis Taylor gets the Gotcha treatment, and swimming champion Duncan Goodhew is on hand to help out a member of the public on Grab a Grand. This is from a recording of mine from when it was repeated last year on TV, so apologies in advance for any glitches or picture quality issues there may be. It was originally broadcast on February 1st 1992 and is from Series 1, Episode 10. Old episodes of these always feel fresh and exhilarating and part of the charm of this is seeing olf familiar faces from shows gone by. Among the cast helping out Noel Edmonds are Gorden Kaye, Carmen Silvera, Kim Hartman, Guy Siner, Arthur Bostrom, Kathy Staff, Duncan Goodhew, Derek Jameson and his wife, snooker star Dennis Taylor, Frank Thornton, plus Eve Ferret and Jacqueline Clarke, who I recognized from Dave Allen at Large (1971-79). Obviously Dennis Taylor never saw the show - well, he is Irish - otherwise he might of twigged that Gotcha sooner. But it's also the members of the public or audience that capture the attention in this show, as another married couple wonder what horrors their little darling has revealed to Noel on Wait Till I Get You Home and wondering just who has been set up this week for game show MTV. With the way the world is at the moment you need a bit of escapism and I hope this provides some to you all. Enjoy.
