The Battle Rages On ... is the fourteenth studio album by Deep Purple, released in 1993. The work marks the return to the microphone Ian Gillan, who returned thanks to Jon Lord, Roger Glover and Ian Paice with huge disappointment Ritchie Blackmore, who was forced by others to put away Joe Lynn Turner.
The quarrels between Gillan and Blackmore surfaced and became stronger and stronger, so much so that according to the same disc Gillan is not one of the test's happiest group. Many of the songs had been prepared when Turner was still in training and therefore Gillan found himself working on songs written by his predecessor.
