In Latvia "About Last Leaf" has been selected as the best song of 1977 and soon became not growing old hit which is favourite and after more than 30 years. "THE MICROPHONE" was an annual Latvian national song competition, which revealed the best songs selected by spectators voting. 15 years in a row (1968-1982) Raimonds Pauls's songs awarded the Best Song Of The Year title. Starting with 1983 the maestro did not nominate his own songs for the competition to enable other composers to have a chance to win this title. В Латвии "Листья жёлтые" была признана лучшей песней 1977 года и вскоре стала всесоюзным хитом, нестареющим и по прошествии более 30 лет. "МИКРОФОН" - латвийский национальный фестиваль, выявляющий лучшие песни года путём народного голосования. 15 лет подряд (1968-1982) титул лучшей песни года получали песни Раймонда Паулса. С 1983 года маэстро решил не выставлять свои песни на конкурс, чтобы дать возможность другим композиторам побороться за этот титул.
