The districts and independent cities are setting up - initially limited to April 30, 2022 - so-called Coordinating COVID Vaccination Units (KoCI), which will become active on site once the vaccination centers have closed.
The main tasks of the KoCIs are:
• the monitoring of the local vaccination process
• Enabling vaccination offers for vulnerable people, for example in care facilities
• planning for nationwide booster vaccinations for the general population as well as
• the organization and coordination of the specific vaccination process on site (e.g. vaccine order, data reporting, provision of support staff).
To this end, the state finances up to 1.5 positions per 50,000 inhabitants in the coordination offices.
