In I Loved a Turk, a young German woman goes to Kayseri to find Ismail, who works as a foreign worker in Germany and is the father of her child. İsmail tarafından reddedilen genç kadın daha sonra gerçek aşkı Mustafa’da ve onun ailesinde bulacak, öyle ki onların hatırına İslamiyet’i bile kabul edecektir. Ancak, Mustafa’nın geleneklere karşı gelen bu aşkın bedelini ödemesi gerekir: Kıskanç yabancı işçi düğünden önce Mustafa’yı öldürür.
