Konu : Film, engellerle karşılaşıp yıkılan bir ailenin öyküsünü konu alır. Muhteşem Hanım, sazlı dam çiftliğinin sahibesidir. Kocası öldükten sonra köyün delikanlılarından Ahmet’e göz diker. Ancak Ahmet, Mihriban ile evlilik plânları yapmaktadır. Muhteşem, bu evliliği engellemeye çalışır. Öte yandan Mihriban’ın ağabeyi Mahmut da bu evliliği Ahmet’in parasızlığı yüzünden onaylamaz. Mihriban’ın annesi, Emeti Hatun’un onay vermesiyle Ahmet ve Mihriban evlenir. Ancak bu evlilik de Ahmet ile Mihriban’ın huzura kavuşmasına yetmeyecektir.
