Gidget, the(Taco Bell) Chiuahua died on July 21st 2009 of a stroke. She was 15 years old. She started her career at the age of 3 in 1997 with her 1st Taco Bell commercial as the hugley famous "Taco Bell Dog"(voiced by Carlos Alazraqui). The dog made popular the phrases "¡Yo quiero Taco Bell!" ("I want Taco Bell!"), "Drop the chalupa!", and "Viva Gorditas!," meaning "Long live Gorditas!". Sadly, in the year 2000, Taco Bell stopped using Gidget for their commercials because some Latin Americans accused the dog of being a stereotype. Gidget later reprised her role as the dog for a 2002 "Geico" commercial along with the Geico Gecko and in 2003 appeared on the big screen in "Legally Blonde II:Red, White, and Blonde" as Bruiser's mom. She made popular the Chiuahua breed and will never be forgotten. R.I.P.
