Der frühere "Bürgermeister" von Stolin, Vasily Ashurkevich ist zu seinem 75sten Geburtstag geehrt worden. Neben seinen Verdiensten für Stadt und Kreis Stolin war er zusammen mit unserem damaligen Bürgermeister Helmut Blau einer der Väter der Städtepartnerschaft zwischen Homberg und Stolin. Ohne den engagierten Einsatz dieser beiden Bürgermeister wäre die seit 1992 erfolgreich bestehende Freundschaft zwischen unseren beiden Städten sicher nicht zustandegekommen. This weekend, the children's recreation comes to an end and our young guests from Stolin have to travel back home. Yesterday, they said goodbye to Homberg with a colorful program of singing and dancing and thanked for beautiful days and many experiences in Homberg. Joachim Jerosch, chairman of the Partnership association Homberg-Stolin was pleased that this stay again could be carried out without greater problems and that there were many colorful offers for the children despite the mixed weather. After a great and interesting week with our friends in Stolin we are back in Homberg. 20 children and their carers from Stolin came with us to Homberg and will be our guests for this year's children's recreation stay for almost three weeks.
