Joseph K. awakes one morning, to find two strange men in his room, telling him he has been arrested. Joseph is not told what he is charged with, and despite being "arrested," is allowed to remain free and go to work. But despite the strange nature of his arrest, Joseph soon learns that his trial, however odd, is very real, and tries desperately to spare himself from the court's judgement... Starring Kyle MacLachlan, Tony Haygarth, Jason Robards, Alfred Molina, Juliet Stevenson, Jean Stapleton, Polly Walker, David Thewlis, Peter Straker, Douglas Hodge, Ewan Stewart, Michael Kitchen, John Shrapnel, Nicholas Farrell, Anthony Hopkins, Patrick Godfrey, Paul Brooke, Robert Lang, Roger Lloyd Pack, Leon Lissek, Harry Burton, Trevor Peacock and John Woodvine among the cast, this was from the Screen Two anthology series and was originally broadcast on December 19th 1993. Based on Frank Kafka's dystopian novel, it's a frightening and uncompromising tale that is very prevalent today over 100 years from when it was first published. With a wealth of famous faces (including a appearance by none other than Anthony Hopkins!), this is compelling viewing. Enjoy - if that's the right word!
