Episode 2 of 6 of the 1990 sitcom. Freddie starts researching Maxine's life story as her new assistant as she becomes ghost writer for her long overdue autobiography. And she needs to start working quick, as her ex boyfriend Steve is pressuring her for the rent owed to him and the publishers are becoming jittery by the deadline and have started demanding their money back. Freddie seeks out Maxine's old diaries for info, but it's when she meets Maxine's former film director Anatol Medved that she learns of some juicy gossip about Maxine's first husband Brett. But whatever will Maxine say?
Starring Charlotte Coleman, Anne Bancroft, Richard Pearson, John Bluthal, Flaminia Cinque, Ian Congdon-Lee and Julie Office. This is a rarely repeated sitcom, requested about a year ago, featuring Charlotte Coleman and Anne Bancroft and written by the considerable talents of Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais. The most expensive sitcom made at the time, it failed to take off with the public, but it's not a bad sitcom at all, and it's nice to see Charlotte Coleman looking a lot healthier here than she was in Oranges Are Not the Only Fruit just a few months earlier. This is from an old recording, so please note there are a couple of glitches, but due to the fact that it has never been repeated in the UK there are no other copies available. I may also point out that this is not my own recording, but that of Youtube member Home, whose original uploads they are. My only reason for uploading them here after a year or more after the sitcom was mentioned to me is due to the recent deletions of a number of accounts on Youtube and I didn't want these disappearing like the others. To credit the original uploader, their account can be found here:
