*** Mystery Solved*** See below, thanks!! .....Top UK c1963-64 Mersey Beat Sounding group, hard guitars, heavy drums, what a track! But who are "C C GROUP"? This is an edit of the full track as it's top quality & totally unknown. Who are Attridge-Saxon? The guitar break is as competent as The Shadows & not unlike their style. Have to be a Pro Group to be this good. C C Group is their band name, Campbell-Connelly music publishing etc etc wouldn't have 'group' after it, publishing would be precisely named.
~~~ FOR SALE ON EBAY ....
~~~ AMAZING that after nearly 4 years that NO-ONE knows who this is, you'd think band members would still be around. One of The Best Unreleased Acetates we've ever heard. The other Best was 'The Jynx' one...

IT'S TRUE (Attridge, Saxon)

An exceptionally great 1963-64 Mersey Beat Group styled track, it's awesome.
Heavy Beat sound with hard drumming & strong guitar still with the Rock & Roll edge, they must be known to someone?
The acetate is cut low volume with a blank B side. The sound is like a tape recording or duplicated tape as an audition demo? It's a studio recording & sounds a semi-pro group.
To identify who made a track worthy of a "10" is your challenge. Utterly brilliant track, The Best Song The Beatles never done in that genre.

Amazingly, just stumbled upon this and I can answer the question of the performers of this recording. It was a south London based band called The Falcons (later renamed The Cee-Jays). Sadly they never achieved the recognition they aspired to and so richly deserved and disbanded, each member , Colin Attridge (rhythm guitarist/composer), Les Attridge (Bass guitarist), John (Art) Murphy (Lead guitarist/lead vocalist) and Bert Simmonds (Percussions) all went their separate ways. Colin continued composing and when, in 2010, re-engaged with John Murphy, they began to record some of Colin's music and released a number of albums through a Liverpool company, Ditto Music. They recorded, firstly under the name of The Cee-Jays then changed to Carriageway. The Cee-Jays albums are: Coin In My Cup, Francesca's Dream and Out Of The Blue. Carriageway albums are: On The Night Bus, Blue Chevrolet and Natural Born Traveler. John released a few "solo" albums, playing largely the music composed by Colin Attridge, entitled "Shades Of Our Shadows", "Cloud Walking", "The Work Of Art" and "Back To The Present". Colin has released a number of solo albums "Reflections 1", Reflections 2", "Reflections 3" "Orchestral Guitar", "Elemental", "Walking The Waterfront", "Under The Stars" and "A Time For Everything" to name but a few! All these releases can be downloaded from all online stores. Hope I've solved this little enigma? Enjoy!
From 45cat 29 Aug 2021... " The Attridge on this acetate, is the composer of the track "It's True", Colin Attridge. The Saxon is a Mr. Alf Saxon, a "sound engineer" who helped out at that time. Colin Attridge has something like 12 to 14 albums posted online under his own name, that of one of the band names, "The Cee-Jays" and their latest incarnation, "Carriageway". The lead guitarist on "It's True", one John Murphy, also has a couple of albums out there playing lead guitar on a tribute to The Shadows, called "Shades Of Our Shadows" and a couple playing the music of Colin Attridge, "Cloud Walking" and "The Work Of Art" (this second one being a play on his birth name, Arthur)
All are available to listen and buy on line at most music stores. Hope this has been some help?"
