An ageing writer resides at a hotel seemingly run by his wife. Living in comfort and able to refuse offers from film makers to adapt another of his works for the screen, he instead awaits the arrival of an old flame from years ago. However, as it turns out when she does turn up her arrival will be anything but welcome...
Starring Paul Scofield, Deborah Kerr, June Tobin and Bruce Lidlington, this is another drama from the anthology series BBC2 Playhouse, first broadcast on TV on July 9th 1982. Based on a Noel Coward play, this is a comedy drama that I recorded from the TV (using the DVD section of my still dud recorder) when it was shown at Xmas. This won't appeal to everyone, but knowing how scarce these anthology plays are I thought I'd record it and upload it for those who are fans of these rare dramas. Enjoy.
