Timothy Spall stars as Malcolm Harvey, a teacher who comes to terms with his past during a school trip.
In 'Mr Harvey Lights A Candle' a class of fifth formers gets more than they bargained for on a school trip to Salisbury Cathedral.
In charge of the visit is Mr Harvey, an old-fashioned and melancholy teacher, whose secret agenda for the trip - to light a candle in honour of his dead wife - has dramatic repercussions for the whole group.
The day starts off badly when the bus breaks down and Mr Harvey's wallet containing a picture of his wife is stolen and the photo is defaced.
When he launches into a ferocious verbal attack on Helen, a troubled teen and the very likely culprit, it is clear that Mr Harvey has been carrying the baggage of his dead wife for far too long.
The film also features Celia Imrie and Ben Miles as his fellow teachers Miss Davies and Mr Cole, and Natalie Press as troubled schoolgirl Helen Taylor.
