Rinat Dasaev was widely regarded as the world's greatest goalkeeper in the 1980s - the Lev Yashin of the colour-TV era. Dasaev was the highest ranked goalkeeper in the Ballon d'Or - European Player of the Year award - in 1982, 1983, 1985 and 1988.
