While dealing drugs on the side, Gonda operates the Genet, a bar in Tokyo where he has hired a stable of transvestites to service the customers. The madam of the bar is Leda, an older, old-fashioned geisha-styled woman with whom Gonda lives and is in a relationship. Arguably, the most popular of the girls working at the bar now is Eddie, modern and younger who, like Leda, lives openly as a woman. Eddie's troubled life includes her father deserting the family when she was a child and her mother mocking her ability to be the man of the family after her father left. Gonda enters into a sexual relationship with Eddie and promises to make her the madam of the bar, Leda's replacement in both facets of his life- Eddie threatens to quit otherwise. Loose adaptation of Oedipus Rex.
