This is the last episode of the Battle 360 USS Enterprise mini-series. The Enterprise engages in successful operations in the South China Sea, Iwo Jima and Okinawa and its string of luck continues even with the introduction of Kamikazes. But Enterprise finishes the war in port after a single kamikaze destroys its forward elevator.
This series chronicle's the illustrious battle history of the U.S.S. Enterprise which played a critical role in World War Two and for a time was the only carrier defending the Pacific Theater from domination by Japan. A documentary series on one of the most famous warships in history - the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise (CV-6). The Enterprise fought in almost every major naval battle in the Pacific theater of WW2, escaping serious damage on many occasions, often by the narrowest of margins. Through CGI and film footage, we see the Enterprise's action-filled WW2 history.
When this series first came out I could not wait for each episode to air and at the time taped every one. Then when I found the series online I grabbed the series for my own collection. I grew up in a navy family. The US Navy has been basically my life. Early on I started building model warships starting way back in the 1960's. By the time I was in my 40's I had built and collected some 350 model warships. Most in the 1/700 scale. I had almost every warship from World War II in that scale. Mainly the US navy and Imperial Japanese navy. Along with the major warships of Great Britain, Germany and Italy. This collection followed me during my entire career in the navy, but all were lost in a move just before I retired in 2003. The USS Enterprise CV-6 was a model that I always wanted in a larger scale, such as 1/350 or larger. A few years back I found a kit of the USS Enterprise CV-6 in the 1/50 scale and I purchased it with a number of model upgrades. Today I only have a handful for 1/700 warships and a half dozen in the 1/350 scale. With the USS Enterprise being one of my favorite.
This mini series along with Band of Brothers are 2 of my all time favorite military mini series. I have both and I have started to upload Battle 360 USS Enterprise CV-6 to my OK.RU channel. This links for the first 2 episodes are below. I remember when this series first came out. I could not wait for the next episode and as soon as I could I got the DVD set for my collection. The Battle 360 series main sponsor was the "Owner" of Enterprise Leasing/Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Founder Jack Taylor selected the name Enterprise as a salute to the WWII aircraft carrier he served on, the USS Enterprise. I believe he was a Hellcat fighter pilot on the Enterprise. I do love this series and I give this series 9.9 out of 10.
In 2023 I will be uploading to my OK.RU channel the World War II TV series: Combat, 12 O'clock High and The Rat Patrol. I am looking to add some western TV series from the 50's-60's in 2023. Have Gun Will Travel, The Rifleman, Bonanza and my others.
