Part 6 of 6 and the final part of the Francis Durbridge mystery from 1966. DI Jack Kerry's meeting at a cafe with Charles Bannister ends with yet another murder, but finally he is beginning to piece the mystery together. He still hasn't discovered the identity of Mel Harris, the man behind it all, but decides that he will use Cathy White to smoke out the culprit. But in a mystery where nobody can really be trusted, it proves to be a very dangerous game to play... Starring Gerald Harper, David Burke, Conrad Phillips, June Barry, Dorothy White, Peter Copley, John Carlin, Kenneth Hendel, John Harvey, Diana King, Patricia Shakesby and Christopher Wray, plus keep your eyes peeled for Play School's Brian Cant, here playing a policeman. I had my reservations whether the B&W Durbridge mysteries could meassure up to the colour versions, but this proved to be a real joy to watch. And this final episode proves a real nail biter as you wait to see who knocks on the door of Cathy White's flat - it's a scene and ploy worthy of Hitchcok himself.
