Part 1 of 6 of the rarely seen TV drama from 1987. The band The Majestics are thrown into turmoil when their lead singer Jazza McGlone is killed in a car crash just before their Silver Jubilee reform tour. But their manipulative manager Eddie Clockerty is not prepared to give up on a money making venture just yet, and decides to rope in McGlone's estranged twin brother Danny to take on the lead role - something the band are not happy about. Meanwhile Danny, who is down on his luck, bumps into old school pal Suzi Kettle and decides to rekindle old friendships.
Starring Robbie Coltrane, Emma Thompson, Richard Wilson, Maurice Roeves, Stuart McGugan, Jake D'Arcy, Ron Donache, Fiona Chalmers and Katy Murphy (her of Mike & Angelo fame) in her debut role. This was a rarely seen TV drama, first broadcast on March 3rd 1987 and only repeated once, at Christmas that year. It was eventually repeated this Christmas, which this is a recording from (so apologies for any glitches in advance), and when it was originally shown in 1987 it was nominated for 6 BAFTAs, winning Best Drama Serial. As this is hard to find anywhere online, I thought I would upload it for people who may remember it or enjoyed it at the time. Please note, this does contain some swearing.
