My Notes
A new recode of Shakespeare's Globe production of Much Ado About Nothing.
I've seen it many times over the last four years since I began this torrent project on another torrent index (which has returned.)
Shakespeare's Globe is an open air theatre exposed to the sky. This is the production where you can see the 'groundlings' in rain gear-- but no umbrellas allowed. As with all the Globe shows the cast is first rate. Charles Edwards who is familiar from Downton Abbey and more recently Henry IX and Batman takes a great comic turn as Benedick. Eve Best who has directed for the Globe is one of the most versatile of Shakespearean performers who is equally at home on television in "Nurse Jackie" and continues in television work as well.
Eve Best and Charles Edwards individually in their soliloquies with their audience will give you two of the finest live audience moments recorded for video.
The Globe productions are available on DVD worldwide. Get them or request them for your libraries.
