This is the classic Raymond Briggs cartoon of the little boy who builds a snowman in his garden, only to find one night that it has come to life. After befriending it, the snowman decides to take the boy with him on an adventure to the North Pole...
This is from an old family recording from Christmas 1986, so apologies for any glitches that may appear in the video. It also has the rare introduction of David Bowie, who it is hinted that the boy in the cartoon might just of been him as a child. It has always been a Christmas staple since it's broadcast in 1982, but you may be interested to know that it was originally broadcast on Boxing Day 1982. And as many will now know, the song "Walking in the Air" is performed by Peter Auty, and not a certain Aled Jones, who only performed the song in 1984 when it was decided to release it as a single.
