A church vicar tries a variety of schemes to come up with 1000 pounds to fix the church's crooked steeple. When all his plans fail, he decides to bet his savings on a horse running at a local race track. A unique Will Hay film due to Moore Marriott not using the character that he is better known for (which was actually a Hay creation).
