While on seaside holiday with her girlfriend Mary, a pretty factory worker named Jenny is attracted to Alan, son of the owner of the mill where she works.
When she agrees to spend a week with the young man, Jenny enlists her roommate's help to keep this liaison a secret.
The conspiracy backfires after an unforeseen incident occurs, revealing that Jenny was elsewhere.
As a result, both sets of parents learn of the liaison, and as one might expect in early 50's England, all Hell breaks loose.
A well done remake of one of the earliest British talkies, made in 1931 after two previous silent versions.
