A saucy period comedy drama originally broadcast on New Year's Day 2001. When Kingdom Swann finds his paintings are now out of fashion at the art galleries, he struggles to make ends meet and falls into a deep depression. To cheer him up, his housekeeper decides to buy him a camera, but has little idea what trouble it will lead him into. Swann gets the idea of making artistic photographs, but when a wily new assistant joins his firm, he sees an opportunity to corner the pornography boom and use cut offs from Swann's photographs to sell to a dubious magazine known in select circles as "Gentlemen's Relish"...
Starring Billy Connolly, Sarah Lancashire, Douglas Henshall, Katie Blake, Liz Ewing, Emily Hillier, David Stringer, Simon Chandler, Teresa Banham, John Warmaby, Jamie Bradley, plus early screen roles for Rebecca Johnson and Emma Stansfield (in her screen debut). This was part of the Xmas schedule for 2000, and proved surprisingly enjoyable, not least Henshall's performance. It was likely also a hit due to the amount of revealing flesh on show for some of the female cast here, so please be warned that this comedy drama does contain quite a bit of nudity. It has rarely if ever been repeated since it's broadcast, so apologies for any quality issues regarding the picture.
