Til Schweiger, directs, writes, produces, edits, stars and probably does both the lighting and the catering in this "Man on Fire"'ish movie about a German ex-soldier killing a bunch of people (as seen above) who want to kill a girl he grows to like as a surrogate daughter (coincidentally, she's played by Til Schweiger's reallife daughter Luna) and who kill even more people to find her. It's people killing people in a really hamfisted soap opera'ish melodrama of sorts that clashes with excellent action scenes every ten to fifteen minutes and offers some good supporting characters. So even though it's way too fucking loooong (almost 140 minutes) and completely shits the bed when the incredible stupid ending comes around, it's still pretty damn good, to be honest.

P.S.: Heiner Lauterbach "ohns zis canntry".
P.P.S.: After that, it's back to Macaroni Combat- and Girls-with-guns-schlock, I promise.
P.P.P.S: Despite another Kinski-killcount, maybe. And something very special that I had planned for Black History Month, but am going to do in a few weeks.
