Down the Drain: East Spillway at Ladybower Reservoir

It's a giant plughole! This is the east spillway shaft at Ladybower Reservoir in the Peak District. The top is around 25 metres across. Once the reservoir is full (6,300,000,000 gallons of water) the excess water drains away through two of these enormous spillway shafts.
