Ingredients
Makes: 12-15 cupcakes
1⁄2 cup (100 g) unsalted butter, at room temperature
2⁄3 cup (150 g) sugar (if you like your cupcakes very sweet, add a little more)
10 g vanilla sugar or 1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional)
2 eggs
1⁄4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/3 cups (200 g) flour
1/2 cup (120 mL) milk

Directions
Preparation: 20 min
Cook: 20-25 min
Ready in: 40-45 min
1. Preheat the oven to 330 F/165 C. line muffin cups with papers.
2. In a medium bowl, cream together the sugar, vanilla sugar and butter. Beat in the eggs, then stir in the salt.
3. Add baking powder, flour and milk. Mix until smooth.
4. Spoon mixture into the prepared tin, filling cups 2/3 full. Bake in a preheated oven to 330 F/165 C for 20-25 minutes or until the capcakes are light golden. Using a toothpick inserted in the center to test for doneness.
5. Top with whipped cream or your favourite icing.
