Thriller (S4 Ep 1 - Screamer) (1975)

S4, Ep 1: Screamer. A young American girl on her way to visit friends in rural England is brutally attacked and raped. After spending the next few months in a mental institution trying to recover from her ordeal, she is released into the care of her friends. The police assure her that they have the man responsible in custody, and she begins to rest easy. That is until she sees her attacker wandering the streets of the town. After planning her revenge she follows the man and kills him. This, she thinks, is the end of her ordeal. That is until the man she thinks she has killed arrives at the house she is staying in... Starring Pamela Franklin, Donal McCann, Frances White, Jim Norton, Derek Smith, Wolfe Norris, Peter Howell, Derek Walker, Stephen Bateman, Ambrosine Phillpotts, Michael Hall and Carinthia West. The 4th series of the anthology series Thriller kicked off with one heck of a controversial bang on January 4th 1975 with this episode. Pamela Franklin seemed to specialize in fragile and damaged women at times in her career and because of this you are never quite sure who to trust in this mind bender of a thriller - even her. Is she imagining it all? Is her real attacker still out there? All I can say is watch on and remember to lock the doors before watching...
