Another major juke box selection that got a lot of play in barrooms across America. Many fond memories have I of this song and the times. Many ideas as to the inspiration behind the song, not verified ... so this is my spin which I suppose is as good as any other, entirely fictional of course. Released in April 1976, the song sailed to #1 in Ireland, of course, and #8 in the UK and Canada. In the US it peaked at #12 on Billboard and #10 on Cash Box on July 17, 1976 (CB date).
