Lucrezia Borgia is forced into a political marriage with Joffrey Baratheon. Everything seems fine at first but then Lucrezia grows increasingly troubled by Joffrey's cruelty and the general ruthlessness of court life. Not to mention that she is hiding a dark secret concerning her brother and herself, which if discovered can put them both in grave danger. So she decides to run away... But during her flight, she runs into Robb Stark who gives her sanctuary in Winterfell. As time goes on, the two of them become increasingly close. When Robb finds out that she is engaged to Joffrey, he is horrified because Joffrey is the one responsible for killing his father. Despite this, he still ends up falling in love with Lucrezia, who has seen the rage that Robb carries inside and is determined to save him from his demons. But when her brother, Cesare, arrives, Robb can't help but observe how close the two siblings are. And that's when all of Lucrezia's skeletons come out of the closet. When Robb hears rumors that she and her brother are involved in an incestuous relationship, he confronts her. Lucrezia decides to come clean and admit that it's true. Robb leaves, disgusted and heartbroken. Despite knowing the truth, he tells Cesare that he loves Lucrezia to which Cesare replies that such a love is dangerous. Robb goes to Lucrezia who goes on to confess a few more secrets- that Joffrey was an abusive husband and that she had to leave because she found out she was pregnant with Cesare's child. Meanwhile, Joffrey is eager to send his erstwhile wife a message- by poisoning her father. A heartbroken Lucrezia realizes that she must go back to her awful marriage. Robb is reluctant but still lets her go, swearing that they will be together again and that he will kill all the Lannisters. Lucrezia goes back to Joffrey and (surprise, surprise) he is still a bastard. Cesare decides he can stand it no longer and kills Joffrey; then he and Lucrezia flee. Robb is shocked by the news and realizes that, Lucrezia and Cesare are wanted criminals who will be executed once caught. Meanwhile, Lucrezia and Cesare are still in hiding. Lucrezia proclaims that she will always love Cesare. Cesare, realizing that he is no longer worthy of being with her, leaves his sister, telling her that she now has Robb, who is a good man. A broken Lucrezia departs to a convent to give birth to their child. And back in Winterfell, Robb is told that Lucrezia has disappeared. He realizes that he must choose between his honor and his love for Lucrezia. He leaves, choosing to look for her. Whoo, that was probably longer than it should have been.
