Life is never dull with Toad around, and this time he is obsessed with his new steam powered punt on the river. As usual his friends Badger, Mole and Ratty have to rescue him when it all goes wrong, but little does Toad know that he will need their help more than ever when one night he is kidnapped in his car by the weasels. But his friends have no idea he is missing, as the weasels have installed an imposter, a theatrical actor by the name of Isambard, in their plot to take over Toad Hall. How will Toad get out of this?
With voices by David Jason, Peter Sallis, Richard Pearson, Michael Hordern, Brian Trueman, Jimmy Hibbert and Brian Southwold, plus narration by Ian Carmichael. This is from an old recording of mine (complete with adverts) from when it was originally broadcast on December 29th 1989. It was a Christmas special to coincide with the relaunch of Wind in the Willows as the newly retitled "Oh, Mr Toad. This series (in 1990) would be it's last after an impressive 7 year run and as far as I'm aware this Xmas special has never been repeated since it's broadcast, so my family was fortunate enough to tape it when they did. Please note that this may contain some glitches, so apologies in advance.
