When Dr Janet Napier walks free from court after a "Not Proven" verdict for the murder of her husband's mistress, Taggart - the arresting officer - is determined to prove her guilt. However, his superior McVitie warns him that the case is closed and tells him to take a two week break. Taggart decides to use that to book himself into Napier's Health Resort in a bid to gain further evidence, but is embarrassed when his colleagues then turn up after the Napier family report a batch of anonymous letters threatening them. And the there is a murder at the resort...
