These are kennels of the Greyhound Racing Association at Chertsey in Surrey where around two hundred puppies are born each year. M/S of a man taking a black puppy in his arms to cut its claws. This is Mr Joe Gross who has been working in kennels for over twenty years. M/S of Mr Gross feeding the puppies. C/U shot of three black puppies drinking milk. Cut to C/U shot of 'mother and baby' - great hug. Mother's face is as long as baby's body.
M/S of a woman holding her dog on a lead while a man measures dog's tail. Voiceover explains that dogs are measured carefully to prevent dog swapping at a racing course. Woman lifts dog's leg for man to inspect it. This is training school at Harley where dogs are trained for racing tracks.
L/S of several people and their dogs walking towards the camera. A man gives them something to smell, it is their prey. Several shots of dogs being trained. They first watch older dogs running after a dummy hare. Dogs are very excited. Later, new dogs run as well. It takes between 6 weeks and 3 months to train a greyhound for the race tracks.
