In the film, where we watch the murdered man also witness the incident, we are faced with a difficult puzzle to solve: One of them is lying, but who and why? The film is an adaptation of the book The Density of the Forest by the author Ryunosuke Akutagawa, who lived in the early 20th century. However, the film was finalized with the addition of cuts from the author's other book Rashômon, which does not exceed 60 minutes in total. Although this film by Kurosawa, one of the masters of Japanese cinema, has not received many awards, it is quite successful.
