White lion Makali gave birth to four cubs overnight on September 26 and September 27. The cubs were born at 10:35 pm, 11:17 pm, 4:15 am and 6:40 am, and are fathered by white lion Fintan. While Makali is doing well and all cubs are feeding and appear healthy, the first 30 days are critical for each of them. Wildlife Care staff will continue to closely monitor them in the maternity den of the lion habitat, and during this time they are not viewable to the public.
