S2, Ep 5: Lucy decides to report the gang rape to Sergeant Eddie Slater, but finds her previous form for lying counts against her as even her parents begin to doubt her story. The only one who starts to believe her is Danny, whose life she ruined by her lies two years ago. He also comes to suspect that Bernie and Father Matthew are having an affair when he turns up at Father Matthew's home for one of his talking therapies. Meanwhile Charles Kilbride stuns his wife Sarah when he innocently invites Jo Jo in to lodge with them. As Sarah succumbs to Jo Jo's charms, Jo Jo decides to seduce Charles in order to secure her place as lodger at their home...
Starring John Simm, Emma Cunliffe, Kaye Wragg, Mary Jo Randle, Peter Copley, Robert Pugh, Charles Dale, Elizabeth Berrington, Kevin Doyle, Annabelle Apsion, Elizabeth Bennett, Matt Bardock, Amanda Mealing, Barbara Wiltshire, Robert Morgan, Samantha Seagar, Robin Laing, Nicholas Day, Bob Mason, Tony Rohr, James Thornton, Jessica Perry, Elizabeth Rider, Joel Phillimore, David Westhead, Lee Oakes, Marshall Lancaster and Clare Holman. Episode 5 and the aftermath of the rape dominates much of this episode. Despite writers best efforts, it's hard to sympathise with Lucy, who has proved relentlessly unpleasant throughout. Meanwhile Jo Jo the lesbian (played by Holby City's Amanda Mealing) moves in with her former lover and her unsuspecting lover, and then proceeds to seduce him! Considering that the Lake District is often advertised as a tourist attraction, there can't be much to do up there if all the characters here seem to do is hop into bed with each other! The only one who doesn't seem to be getting his oats is Peter Quinlan - and he's married! Please note that this contains swearing, violence, sex scenes and nudity.
