The Amur or Siberian tiger has no problem living in a very cold part of Russia. Winter months can be a snowy and chilly -10 to -40 degrees Fahrenheit!
This agriculture area of Russia is filled with coal, iron ore, limestone, and mineral springs, so we must do our best to not disturb the tigers habitat in mankinds desire for its riches. Recent DNA studies show the extinct Caspian Tiger is pretty much the Siberian tiger of today as only one nucleotide separates them.
The beautiful snow leopard also has some harsh climates it calls home. Cold temperatures along with high elevations in countries like Mongolia and Kazakhstan and war torn places like Afghanistan make researching this animal very difficult.
