I wrote this song inspired by Cinderella's fairytale, most heavily inspired by my favorite version of the story, the (original) Disney animated film, and also by the song, "A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes." I figuratively put myself in a modern day Cinderella's shoes, and out came a song about hope and determination. But after writing it, and watching my producer, Adam, compose the gorgeous music to accompany my lyrics and melody, I feel like this isn't just a love song to Cinderella anymore, but to all Disney Princesses, (and likewise, those who are inspired by their spirits & stories). This was sort of an exercise for Adam and I in writing a new song fit for a Disney Princess... The concept started out with Cinderella, which is why I kept the theme of the video inspired by her, but the song is meant to be sort of our take on if we got to write a new song for a modern Disney Princess film..whether it was for Cinderella herself, or a whole new character. I've been singing Disney music for as long as I can remember, so it was really fun to imagine what it would be like to write something a Disney Princess would sing. Of course this isn't actually for Disney officially, it's just a love song to my favorite storytellers...I find inspiration for music in all different things, but just wanted to share my little journey with this one. Listening back to the music in the track, I hear hints of Rapunzel from Tangled, some Neverland magic in there, of course some Cinderella-esque notes & lots of other Disney musical inspo too. And a common theme I've found with just about every Disney princess or character that I love, is their positivity, kindness and determination. I hope this little song speaks to that and captures at least a little of the heart and spirit of these films that inspire me so much. Hope you guys know that no dream is too big, and nothing is impossible as long as you never lose your hope or the desire to follow your passions. God gave you a voice, and your talents and passions for a reason, so what are you waiting for? Get out there and use them!
