The Sukhoi SU-25SM jets carried out take-off and landing drills on a highway in the Khabarovsk Region on Thursday as a part of the Russian armed forces' five-day drills. General Alexei Kuzmenkov said such drills hadn't taken place in Russia for a long time and added that the exercises show "the level of professionalism of the Aerospace Forces." On Monday Russia's Central and Eastern military districts kicked off five-day snap drills in the run-up to the "Vostok-2018" war games, due to be held September 11-15 in the Russian Far East. According to the Russian MoD, 262,000 soldiers, 1,077 aircraft, up to 900 tanks, over 31,000 items of military equipment and 300 ships are taking part in five-day drills.
